Xbox 360 Kinect Bundles Available November 4

Microsoft has confirmed that two Xbox 360 Kinect bundles will be available on November 4.

The bundles now include both of the new Xbox 360 slim models. The 250GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle will set you back $399. Those looking for a more casual gaming experience can probably get by on the 4GB bundle that will be priced at $299.

Formerly codenamed Project Natal, Kinect is Microsoft’s answer to the motion-controlled gaming experience found in Nintendo Wii. Unlike Wii, Kinect uses a single sensor bar, which is mounted near the TV, to track body movements without controllers.

Why Is the Co-creator of Xbox Joining Bebo?

Kevin Bachus, best known as one of the co-creators of Microsoft’s Xbox, has joined Bebo as its new Chief Product Officer. The move comes just three months after AOL sold Bebo to Criterion Capital Partners at a fraction of its original value.

Bachus has a long history in the entertainment and gaming space. He was with Windows software and game developer Mindscape before joining Microsoft in 1997 as a product manager for DirectX. However, he made his name as one of the four men that came up with original concept for the Xbox console, as well as Xbox’s first director (...)

Twitter’s User Streams Launching Soon

According to a recent post from Twitter infrastructure employee John Kalucki, the highly anticipated User Streams API product will be moved from a closed beta to an open beta testing period quite soon.

Twitter first announced User Streams at Chirp, where Twitter Director of Platform Ryan Sarver told a crowd of eager developers about a new feature and API that would get data in real time and without rate limits. The warm weather is beginning to cool just a bit, kids are heading back to school. We hate to admit it, but summer’s over, and with it have gone our wonderful, leisurely vacations.
